Speaker Profiles
Dr Sosie Kassab is Director of Complementary Cancer Services at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, part of University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She specialises in homeopathy, acupuncture and Iscador (a mistletoe preparation ). These treatments are used to help side effects of conventional cancer treatments, symptom relief and quality of life. She is particularly concerned to ensure that complementary treatments are used safely and appropriately alongside conventional treatments. She will outline the approach used in her clinic.
Dr Maurice Orange, MSc Clin Oncol - trained as a GP and in anthroposophical medicine in Holland. He was Medical Director of Park Attwood Clinic: a centre for integrative anthroposophical medical-therapeutic care, where spiritual, psychosocial and biological aspects were taken into account in treatment. Dr Orange's work has focussed on integrate cancer care and lectures and publishes regularly. His focus of interest and experience include: cancer care; immunology; mistletoe therapy and whole body hyperthermia; spirituality in medical care. He currently holds a senior position in developing integrated oncology at the Ita Wegman Clinic (near Basel, Switzerland). He will speak on the role of fever in integrative cancer therapy: mistletoe and hyperthermia.
Xandria Williams runs CanSurvive Resource Centre a health care practice based on a CAM (Complementary, Alternative and Metabolic) approach to health. This includes naturopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine, homoeopathy and other related modalities. Her psychotherapy approach includes NLP, EFT and other methods of personal growth and development. Xandria's original degrees and background are in chemistry and biochemistry and she has maintained an academic or scientific approach to her work. She will provide a brief introduction to her most recent book, “Cancer Concerns: a practical 10-step programme described and explained”
